Background: Every nurse can apply the behavior of "caring" in its application in treating clients. Many factors wich related to behavior of "caring" nurse is a nurse's own demographic characteristics. Demographic characteristics including age, sex, marital stastue, education and years of service.
Target of Research: To know the relationship between socio-demographic characteristics with the behavior of Caring nurse nurses perceived by patients in Ward IV Jasmine Room Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital at Distric of Klaten.
Research method: The method used in this analytic descriptive study design was cross-sectional. Samples from the study were all nurses in Ward IV Jasmine Room Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital at Distric of Klaten. The statistical analysis used was Spearman Rank correlation test with a significance of 5%..
Result of research: The majority of nurses aged 20-40 years (78.9%), female (68.4%), educated Diploma of Nursing (94.7%) and have worked less than five years (94.7%). The majority of nurse caring behaviors perceived by patients in Ward IV Jasmine Room Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital at Distric of Klaten in 2010 are in both categories (42.1%).
Conclusion: There is a long relationship with nurse working lives of nurses caring behavior at Melati Room Inpatient Dr IV. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Hospital in 2010 (p value = 0.001).
